I am currently one of the VETS volunteers, a group of 10 people in the village who will receive a call if anyone wants one of the defibrillators and dials 01285 610230.
At the moment I am suffering from a back problem which isn't showing any signs of improving and I am just not able to do what would be required should I get the call i.e. Rush to my car, get a defibrillator and then deliver it quickly to someone's house.
I am therefore looking for someone to take my place on the list.
The system works by calling all 10 volunteers at the same time, the first person who answers is given the choice of accepting the call and agreeing to get the defibrillator or rejecting it if it's not convenient.
If you think you might be able to go on the list then please get in touch, either with me, or any parish councillor.
So far the system has not been used but having someone who could deliver a defibrillator to a person in need could literally be a matter of life or death.

Tonight we are really spoiling you, as we don't have just one band, oh no. For bank holiday and to celebrate the end of the summer, we have two great bands for your listening pleasure.

CIRCE'S DINER - Dedicated to self-penned, honest, rootsy tunes the music from the Diner touches base with Country, Americana, Folk and Pop traditions yet the presentation and lyrical content comments on modern life through wondrous tales of love, loss, friendship and tigers! One half of this band is our very own, village-grown Rosina Buck 🙂

MARK WALBY - Ending the summer in style is the wonderful Mark. A set of great songs and sing along, toe-tapping tunes.

What a great way to end your summer!

Live music, barbecue style food, local beer & cider and a roaring fire bowl. What's not to love!

£18 for food & music (£8 for 6-11yrs, £5 for 2-5yrs)

Doors open 5pm. Live music from 6pm:
- Circe's Diner 6pm. - Mark Walby 8pm
