We have recently supported Sue Callard’s excellent initiative for improved signage around the village for the School, Church and Village Hall. The amount was £200.00 from our funds.
In December we received a cheque from Sweet Fuels for the last 6 months rebate period and this amounted to £185.78 an increase of 10% over the comparable period.
Our funds for community good causes currently stands at £374.27 with the next larger rebate due in June.
With the increase in fuel costs over the last few weeks, we are back to volatility with heating oil prices. There have been some big swings between 40p and 50p a litre recently.
I have spoken with Adrian Sweet and we are always assured of being better than their normal price. There are agencies who sometimes may offer better prices on the day, depending upon whatever deals they can put together and on what route. No one supplier can be the cheapest all the time when prices are up and down day to day,
If you do find a better price than Sweet, you can always call Adrian and providing it is not a loss making price, they will be happy to match it. To remind members, especially new ones, one of the main reasons we use a regular supplier apart from the financial benefits is a guaranteed weekly delivery service and priority for deliveries in bad weather and temporary oil shortages. Both these events can suddenly occur during winter months.
