Parish Council needs your help
The Parish Council needs your help. If you are a keen walker or may be able to come to a neighbour’s aid in an emergency then please read on.
Footpath Wardens
The village has many miles of footpaths and making sure they are all in good condition is a big job. We are hoping to get a group of volunteers who would each be prepared to take on an area of the parish and keep an eye on the paths so that any problems can be dealt with at an early stage. The more volunteers we get the less onerous the task, so if you walk around our paths then please consider putting yourself forward.
Village Emergency Telephone System (VETS)
The Parish Council has decided to sign up for VETS which is organised by the Heartbeat Trust.
We now need volunteers who are prepared to go on a list of people who will all be phoned simultaneously if someone is alone with a casualty. Once the person in need has called 999 they can then call the unique VETS number which links to all the volunteers. The first person who answers can then fetch one of the village’s defibrillators.
Volunteers don’t need any medical expertise – they just need to be prepared to collect the defibrillator – so if you would be prepared to be on the list then please let us know.
We already have 6 of the 10 we need, so once we have found another 4 we can get the system under way.
If you think you may be able to help with either of the requests but need more information please contact the Parish Clerk or any of the Councillors (details on our website).
I would be happy to help with the footpath warden scheme and VETS if needed
